
Do you need to catch up?
I, Jon, am living with my wife, Agnès, our son, Léo, and his sister, Daphné, in the French Alps not far from Geneva. I work with the French evangelical population producing multi-media used for a variety of purposes. Agnès works part-time as a midwife in nearby Switzerland. Léo is learning to talk while mastering the stairs and considering the realm of “potties”. Daphné is trying solid food, attempting controlled rolling and successfully going to bed without her passifier.
This frequents …revisited site is part of a renewed effort to connect with friends, sponsors and well-wishers from the US. Rather than complicate the connecting activity with lines of code, ftp programs, and real cameras, I opted for a technique that will allow me to do everything from my iPhone. If you are interested, I could tell you all about it.
We are who our friends are.
Maybe not exactly, but pretty close. Sometimes distance or busyness keeps us from connecting with the people who mean the most to us. This is a tragedy. Any attempt or re-attempt to connect is a good thing… unless the connecting stays at a social-media depth. I encourage you to connect, really connect, with those people you really admire. Those people who push you to be the person you desire to become.
The church is a great place to do this. A café or a coffee house is a great place to do this. Online has its drawbacks, but it also has its advantages. So let’s connect, using the virtual realm of our day rather than being used by it.
